| Arles-sur-Tech nestles beside
theTech River in the Tech Valley. Being close to Spain it is a typical
Catalonian village. You will see the red and yellow of the Catalonian
flag all over the region. Arles-sur-Tech is the capital of the
Vallespir district. |

The village grew up around
an important Benedictine Abbey which was established in the town in the year
778. There are a number of other historical and architectural points
of interest to be visited. |
| Arles
sur Tech as with all the other
towns and villages in the region retain their old traditions which are often
celebrated with fetes. The village has all the facilities you
need: bakers, butchers, tabacs, grocers, a small Spar, chemist, cafes,
restaurants and a hotel. |

Arles
sur Tech has very good tennis
courts, an outdoor swimming pool and a great children's play area.
There is an international basketball centre with saunas and gym. |
| Once you reach the river, over a
narrow bridge you can walk along and find many secluded inlets to bath,
sunbathe or get lost in a good book. Amelie-les-Bains, next to Arles sur
Tech is
especially good for bathing with numerous small riverside beaches. |

endless activities, walking, mountain biking, fishing, hunting and skiing in
the winter. |

play mountain golf. Le Domaine de Falgos
is
high in the Pyrénées, but only 45 minutes away. A wonderful plateau
giving 5 star golf and country club facilities. |

45 minutes away. Pure white sand, palm trees and all the water sports
you need. The ports are great for fish markets, cafes and boutiques. |
