How to get there

Flights

The nearest airport of Perpignan is only forty minutes drive, serviced by Ryan Air who fly to Perpignan all year round.  Flights as cheap as £10 have been known out of season.

Carcassonne airport is also services by Ryan Air, it is an hour and a half away but  is still an option to get competitive prices.  Both airports have very reliable car hire.  Gerona and Barcelona  in Spain, are also a flight option and are one and a half to two and a half hours drive respectively.  Crossing the border is never a problem or a delay.

By Car

Driving via the Channel Tunnel could not be easier.  It is possible to push the drive down to 12-14 hours, but the easier option is to have an overnight stop.  A double room with services and evening meal can be found easily for as little as £35 (24 euros).  The favoured route is via Calais, Reims, Lyon, Montpellier, Perpignan, Arles-sur-Tech.  It is motorway all the way to Perpignan.

The House

Drive into Arles-sur-Tech and after the garage on your right hand side you approach a mini roundabout.  Continue over the roundabout up a one way road, past the Credit Agricole Bank on your right, when you see the large green cross of the Pharmacie on your right, la rue Font d'Avall is on the left (a small narrow sharp turning so be vigilant), between the tabac and the Artic Posta café.  This is a one way street down a moderate slope La Font d'Avall is at the end of the street on the left.  Parking outside the house is permissible for a short while, but it is best to park across the junction at the end of the road where there is plenty of room.
